I have been asked why am I doing this. The bottom line answer is because a lot of people need fitness help.
I need to start from the beginning. Some of my fitness clients awhile back suggested that I share my knowledge and somewhat unique training method with others. They explained to me that there are a lot of people that need fitness help but can’t afford it or can’t find a good personal trainer.
My first thought was are you people crazy!!! Why would I give knowledge that I get paid for away for free. Their answer to that was it would be my legacy. So what do you say to that?
After looking at my schedule and client list. I realized that I did not have much more room in my schedule to add new clients. Between taking care of my old clients and being the assistant coach for my son’s high school basketball team my time was taken up.
So what was I really doing with the knowledge I had accumulated over the years. Only a handful of people would benefit from it and then what? So I thought about it. Should I write a book? I then thought about all those fitness books I had read. The problem I always had with them was that there is no follow up or support for the readers. So no book deal for me.
Again my clients made another suggestion, blogging. Blogging??? How in the world would I blog? I had read other people’s blogs, but I thought you had to be a web designer or have a web designer create a blog for you, to have your own blog.
When it was explained to me that I could get my own blog, write about anything I wanted to write about and interact with my readers, the light bulb came on (duh!).
So, I started The Fitness Game blog, which I use to share my knowledge and incite. It has grown from there.
Before I started the blog, a few of my clients asked me if I would help their friends and family members that did not live in my area. They asked me to customize workouts and email it to them. I also would support them online via email. I agreed to it and it worked out very well. I communicate with them as their personal trainer on a weekly basis. They have gotten excellent results.
Recently, I found out that a few of them have been promoting my blog and telling people about me doing customized workouts over the internet.
At first I was a little upset, because I started getting requests from all these people that I didn’t know. Then it struck me, isn’t this why I started this blog in the first place to help as many people as I can.
So I have embraced it and I am having the time of my life helping people. I do pledge that if you request my help you will get it. You just have to bear with me, if I don’t get right back to you right away.
I am trying to develop a system, so that those that have time sensitive issues, I deal with first.
I do have some rules.
- If your not going to follow the program I have done for you, don’t waste your time and mine asking for it. There are other people who really want and need my help.
- Don’t ask me to assist you in doing anything unhealthy for you, such as ask what steroids should I take or how do I make myself throw up. Not happening.
- If I help you, you must communicate with me on a regular basis so I know how you are doing and if your going in the right direction. Your program might need adjustments from time to time.
So as you can see, I have committed to doing this. Lets see how long it will take me to pull my hair out. For those of you that are reading The Fitness Game, I will still be posting on a regular basis.
Until next time. Keep moving forward!!!
i would love to have someone help me with a fitness program. i never know what i should be doing and it is hard to keep going when i don’t know what i should be doing or get really sore because i have fibromyalgia. i think it would be a lot easier if someone could tell me what to do and then keep me going by emailing or talking. i have a gym membership and had wanted to hire a personal trainer but that is just way to expensive for me. so if you are willing to help that would be awesome and both me and my husband would really appreciate it.
hey?..i need a fitness program. mine worked until i lost 10 pounds, then its stoped!. please help me
Hello Coach A,
I realy appreciate what you are doing-you’re like a superhero for those people like me who need help. Ok, I am 24 year old and I want to lower my body fat percentage. Currently, it is 22% and I weigh 113 lb, so I don’t want to loose weight. I’m 5′5 and I realy do have an excess fat on my belly and some cellulite on my legs, my arms are really weak. Tell what I have to do. I promise I’ll follow every single word from you.
Thank you for your time
Hi,
Basically in the last year I have managed to lose 28lbs through calorie control. I have now reached a plateau at 133lbs and would like to lose the last 7lbs and tone up. The main problem places for me are my thighs and stomach. I am aware that I will now need to motivate myself and do some exercise but I have no idea how much or what to be doing.
Thanks
Hi. It’s me again. I managed to lose a decent amount of weight but I really would love to tone down my flab on my stomach and arms and its just not going. I’m 5.6 and I way around 130 pounds. My ideal weight for me would be around 125 and toned. But honestly i don’t know how many days of cardio vs. how many days of strength i should do. I would really appreciate your help. It might help if you know that i can’t do any high intensity for my knees so running and lunges aren’t too much an option. I opt for fast walking and elliptical for 30 to 40 min about 3 to 4 days a week and arms toning once a week and legs toning (walking hills) twice a week. What doyou think?
Thanks alot for your help.
I’m interested
I’m 5′9″, 163 lbs. My email address is: bethyoung26@yahoo.com
I would be very interested in emailing you about this to see if you would be able to help me. I have lost 80 lbs so far and have more than that to go. I understand that you’re probably in rather high demand right now, but here’s my blog that will give you an idea of who I am and how committed I am.

I’d really love to hear from you.
I was refered to your blog from Yahoo! Answers yesterday. I read a lot and am happy with what I see. I just had my 4th child and am looking to strengthen and get into shape. I am very pleased that the person told me about your blog and that you are so willing to help those of us who dont have the money for a PT (or a gym membership period in my case)because I believe everyone needs a customized fitness plan to succeed.
I haven’t yet read everything on here(but do plan to) but I was wondering, if you havent got it on here already would you tell me how I can strengthen my back. I have a lot of back problems and I know its due to lack of exercise and that my back is so weak.
Thanks for the great advice and keep it up!
Victoria
Hi,
I just came across your blog and think that what you are doing is great! It’s nice to know that you want to help people out! I’m one of those… ha ha. I’m 5ft 4 and weigh 8 stone which is about 110lbs or a bit more I think. I’d like to tone up a bit and maybe loose some weight… I’m just not sure how I’d go about doing so… I go the gym at the moment but I’m just not confident at what I’m doing and for how long I should do things for etc. weights in particular… I’m just confused on how many reps and the amount of weights and what machines to use! I would be grateful if you could help me out a bit and fix me up with a workout plan or something?
Hi, My name is Priscilla and I would love for you to make me a fitness plan along with a meal plan. I used to be around 130 pounts and now am sitting at 141.6 pounds. I should be more healthier with the way I choose to eat, but I am in a hole and can’t get myself out. Could you e-mail me and help me out? What you do is awesome and you should be very proud of yourself for helping so many people.
Hi coach A. I wanted to say first of all what a great thing it is your doing. Theres not a lot of people like you left in the world that just generally want to do good deeds with nothing in it for themselves except for the feeling of accomplishment. I say thank you in advance. Hopefully you can help me too. If not thats ok I will understand. My friends think I’m crazy because I’m only about 123 lbs. Before I had my son I worked out all the time. I weighed 105. I never really got serious about trying to loose some weight before because I figured I was “good enough” I’m only 5 ft 1 so I can see extra flab where it doesn’t need to be and now I just don’t feel as good as I used to. In May I got real serious about loosing weight and trying to get fit. I mean I don’t need to loose a lot I’d be happy with 5 or 6 lbs, but I’ve lost 2 in almost 3 months. Thats it. I already had some muscle tone so I know it can’t be just the muscle gain thing. Also feel more tired than I did before. I’ve been using my running machine and doing work out videos and all sorts of different things as to mix it up. I do a work out 4 to 5 times a week. I eat right making sure to include the important fruit veggies and vitamins. I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong. If you have any advice or a better routine please let me know. I don’t know if I can go on killing myself for no results. I especially want to feel better too. It just seems to drain me. Thanks so much for reading, hope to hear from you soon.
